Abby Goldberg

Abby Goldberg is a thought leader, advocate, and strategist for the advancement of social justice and human rights. For over a decade, she has been successful in building and leading human rights organizations including the Global Justice Center, Digital Democracy, and the New Media Advocacy Project. 

As the Deputy Director of the New Media Advocacy Project—a social enterprise that merges media and law for effective advocacy and human rights enforcement)—she brought her deep experience in conceptualizing and executing innovative strategies to merge media and law for effective advocacy and human rights enforcement. While at N-MAP, she secured recognition by Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt identifying N-Map as one of 10 organizations “leading the new digital age.” 

Previously, while at Digital Democracy, Abby was named one of the Top 100 Women in Politics & Technology by GovFresh for her work developing the first mobile tool for coordinating responses to gender based violence in Haiti's camps as Principal for Latin America/Caribbean and Gender.

Earlier in her career, she co-founded All Day Buffet and was part of the founding team of the Global Justice Center, where she led Communications and Development efforts in support of women’s political equality and access to justice. 

Since 2016, Abby has focused on consulting for organizations such as UN Women, Women Donors Network, Global Citizen Year, and Wikipedia, and is currently developing a video series about the U.S. and Cuba called Intercambio.

A frequent speaker and writer on the enforcement of international law and the use of media and technology in promoting human rights and social justice, she holds a degree in International Relations from American University’s School of International Service and lives in Brooklyn with her husband and son.
